…a fascinating exercise in rock star myth debunking.
— Erin Free, FILMINK

Anonymous Club was screened on the final evening of the festival at around 11pm (post-karaoke). The amphitheater was crowded with picnic rugs as people settled in to watch. The film provided the perfect opportunity for artists and punters to come together, relax and wind down after three days in the elements. Anonymous Club was a gentle but emotional way to say hello to the new year and a nice conclusion to a festival focused on live music.

Shot by Cohen himself in heavenly 16mm, Anonymous Club looks as vividly rich as a Courtney Barnett album sounds.

As a meditation on depression, anxiety and touring, Anonymous Club isn’t just valuable viewing for Barnett’s die-hard fans, though they will no doubt cherish this film which captures the artist at her most open, outside of her music. For the first time, we’re invited into the club.

Danny Cohen gives Courtney Barnett the space to be herself in this masterpiece of a documentary.
— Andrew F Peirce, The Curb

Anonymous Club is undoubtedly a film that Barnett fans will adore — but if you’re not familiar with her music, or perhaps not that into it, you may emerge a fan by the end.
